In 1977, at the heigh of the Cosmos run, NYC suffered a blackout and descended into chaos. That same day, star defender Carlos Alberto Torres arrived to sign with the team. In memory of this chapter in Cosmos history, we helped Umbro launch a limited run of black-on-black apparel called the Blackout Collection.

We began by having Carlos’ tell his side of the story. Through animation, print/OOH, and pop-up retail in New York and London, we shared what began the race for the title.

*We wanted to open the store with a ceremonial brick toss through the front window, but the landlord
wasn’t cool with that.
